Weekend

Weekend again, yaay. Not sure what happened to the week, but I am getting quite good at doing nothing and making the time pass.

This weekend will be pretty quiet, we are going out for our regular Saturday lunch tomorrow, despite all the fastfood places in our area, there is still one very close to us I would like to try, http://opahrestaurant.com/. I have been to another restaurant owned by the same person down in  Laguna Beach and that was delicious. If you are willing to travel for 20-30 minutes down to Laguna or Newport, there are plenty of fantastic places - with great views!

For Sunday the original plan was to watch the Chelsea - Liverpool game in one of the Irish pubs around here and enjoy an Irish breakfast. Change of plans - the bookshelf will be delivered between 8:45 and 10 am so it looks like hubby will enjoy that breakie on his own and enjoy some lads´s time down the pub.

Weekend also means new episodes! We are somewhat of TV-junkies...or should I say, TV-series...
US have some quality TV-series showing at the moment, other than those series we don´t really watch TV (although I do admit, I occasionally watch Top chef and house hunters). Beware us of all the reality shows, x-factor, big brother...oh no, no chance in this house..but the SERIES. Of course, we record them (how did we ever survive without the DVR) and watch them whenever convenient. Some the series we currently follow are
  • Homeland - great, new series, probably the best at the moment
  • Sons of anarchy - on its fourth season but still going strong
  • The walking deads  great first season on AMV, second season is a little slow
  • Terra Nova - a little B but still ok to watch
  • The good wife - third season and still good!
  • Blue bloods - NY cop family, nothing special but pleasant to watch if you have nothing else to do
  • Hell on wheels - new series on AMC, seems ok,
  • Hawaii 5-0, ok, entertaining
  • Boss - surprisingly good politial drama with Kelsey Grammer, nice surprise
Of course, we also go off series...we used to watch

  • House
  • Damages
  • Dexter
  • Desperate housewives
Sadly, I think all of the above have reached their best before date. We tried to watch some of them this season but they kind of felt "seen it before". As you can see, comedies are not so popular in this house,  not sure when I saw a good comedy the last time. Fawlty towers perhpas, and that´s quite some time ago:)

Time to wake Gavin up on the sofa and go to bed!
